Directional drilling methods were used to install approximately 1,800 linear feet of steel pipe below the Kansas River bed, and an additional 500 linear feet was installed using open cut methods. The project consisted of the development of concept design criteria, an alignment study and final design bid documents utilizing horizontal directional drilling.
